In my most recent body of work I have been applying sand drawings over painted abstractions. Inspired by drawing and writing on beaches and watching the impressions get washed away I decided to abscond with the sand and use it as my "ink" to write and draw on top of my painted layered surfaces. These pictures are spontaneous meditative calligraphic expressions that sometimes reference the narrative of letter writing, poems, webs, circuitry, waves, the inner and outer landscape, and sometimes... the inexpressible.
